VOLUNTEERS
Welcome to the world of business done Girl Scout style! The Girl Scout Cookie Program is much more than a fundraiser. It's a fun way for girls of all ages to earn the money that fuels their dreams. And it's a powerful, hands-on leadership and entrepreneurial program.
Follow the Five Steps to Cookie Success:
Step 1 - Set and Share Team Goals Help girls select two goals that inspire them - one for fun and learning and one for making the world a better place.
Step 2 - Set Personal Goals Be sure to remind girls that achieving a team goal requires that every person achieve her personal goal. What would she like to learn along the way?
Step 3 - Hold a Family Meeting Adults need to understand the importance of an activity before they give it their full support. Engaging families encourages them to be involved.
Step 4 - Sell Beyond Family and Friends People LOVE Girl Scout Cookies and are generally predisposed to buying them. Many women say their first business success was getting a "yes" from an unknown customer. Encourage your girls to market beyond people they know.
Step 5 - Track Your Progress and Celebrate Your Success! Using a goal tracker to watch sales grow keeps everyone focused on the goal. When girls reach their goal, remember to celebrate!

Cookie Kickoff Rallies
Start the cookie season off right with a Cookie Kickoff Rally! It offers Service Unit Cookie Managers and Troop Leaders a chance to really motivate and energize the girls for the Cookie Program. They get a chance to taste the cookies, learn about safety rules and selling tips, see the recognitions, learn the value of setting goals, and most importantly, get excited about selling cookies! At the rally the girls can also learn about additional ways to sell their cookies, such as with a Walkabout Weekend, at cookie booths, and also how to promote Project Cookie Jar.
Remember:
Girl Scouts in grades K-5 can attend Cookie Rallies from 10 a.m. — 12 p.m. for only $5 per girl and participate in a variety of fun activities, while learning customer service and marketing techniques. Girl Scouts in grades 6-12 can become newly minted CEOs (Cookie Entrepreneur Officers) at Cookie College later in the afternoon from 1:30 — 4 p.m. also for only $5 per girl. Once they "graduate" they will be armed with the tools they need for a successful cookie season!

Recognition: Each Girl Scout who participates in the Cookie Kickoff Rally will earn a special patch, available through the Council online store for a cost of $0.75.
Don't forget pictures!! Please share your Cookie Kickoff Rally photos with us by posting them to our Facebook page or by emailing them to cookiesale@gshpa.org.
