Position title: Membership Specialist

Position reports to: Membership Development Manager, Terry Cohee

Position status: Full time

Location: Harrisburg

Travel required: Yes, areas under council jurisdiction.

Position summary:

The Membership Specialist is responsible for the achievement of membership goals in an assigned area through community cultivation, needs assessments for services, development and implementation of recruitment program delivery, and support of service unit volunteers. Work in collaboration with the membership development manager and outreach coordinator to ensure Girl Scouting is available to all girls. Plan, implement and conduct Girl Scout recruitment and program activities, including alternative delivery opportunities, for the increase in and retention of girl membership. Plan and implement ways to increase adult membership.

Skills and qualifications:

Two years experience developing and conducting recruitment programs and events preferred.

Strong communication, organization and time management skills, as well as public speaking and program capabilities.

Proficient in recruitment and training techniques.

Strong public relations skills and ability to develop community collaborations

Proficient in Microsoft Office software and the use of office equipment

Ability to maintain confidentiality and conduct business in a professional manner

Ability to communicate orally and in writing

Ability to effectively identify, analyze and solve problems.
