HARRISBURG, PA – Jeshanah McLeod of Dillsburg, PA, has been honored for her leadership by non-profit organizations in the South Central PA community with the Rising Philanthropist Award. McLeod was named the recipient of the award on November 9, at an event hosted by the Women’s Fund, an initiative of The Foundation for Enhancing Communities (TFEC).

McLeod is the Marketing Director at Brown Schultz Sheridan & Fritz, Harrisburg, PA;  a Women’s Leadership Network Advisory Committee Member for the United Way of the Capital Region; and a Friend’s Board Member for YWCA of Greater Harrisburg for which she chairs the Cards with Heart fundraising campaign to support the YWCA Emergency Shelter.

In 2016, Jeshanah joined the Girl Scouts in the Heart of Pennsylvania (GSHPA) Board of Directors.  She currently serves as Chair of the Fund Development Committee and has introduced vital new funding partners to GSHPA.

When asked how she decides which community organizations to get involved with, McLeod quickly answers, “That’s easy. My passion is for children and women’s causes. If the opportunity will let me make a difference for children and women, I’ll do it.”

McLeod has a deep understanding of the opportunities that today’s girls are looking for, and serves as a role model for who they can become through Girl Scouts.

“Jeshanah’s focus on driving donors to support Girl Scouts in the Heart of PA has created a measureable impact for the girls we serve,” says GSHPA President & CEO, Ellen Kyzer. “She is gifted at connecting community organizations with individuals and foundations to create mutually beneficial relationships. Her leadership at Girl Scouts in the Heart of PA has impacted nearly 20,000 girls across central and northeastern PA.”
