Ellen Kyzer, MPA-Chief Executive Officer
Ellen Kyzer was appointed as GSHPA's CEO in January 2016. Kyzer’s resume includes over 17 years of leadership experience in the nonprofit and fundraising field.
As a child, Ellen was a Girl Scout from Pike County who fondly remembers the impact the organization and the people involved in it had on her.
“My time as a Girl Scout gave me exposure to strong women and that is an important part of what we represent as an organization,” said Ellen. “I’m excited for the opportunity to influence young women and girls. Empowering women leaders starts with mentoring and developing girls as leaders from an early age.”
She graduated with both a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Urban Studies and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from the University of Pittsburgh. In addition to a long career in public service, she has volunteered her time and held board leadership positions for a variety of organizations like Channels Food Rescue and the Harrisburg Public School Foundation.
Suzanne Moore, MSHR -Chief Operations Officer
Suzanne has over 15 years of Girl Scouting experience holding both volunteer and staff positions, including Camp Director, Resident Camp Director, Outdoor Program Manager, and Regional Director for GSHPA’s north, northeast and west regions. She was appointed to the role of Chief Operating Officer in March 2015.
Becoming a camp counselor gave Suzanne the opportunity to try new things in a safe environment, surrounded by strong women who encouraged her to continue achieving beyond what she ever thought possible. The various positions she has held at GSHPA have enabled her to learn what Girl Scouts means to volunteers, girls, and parents, and what keeps them engaged in Girl Scouting. These experiences inspire her work at GSHPA and influence her efforts towards growing both the quantity and quality of opportunities for all girls within our footprint.
She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Secondary English Education from Penn State University and a Master’s of Science degree in Human Resources from the University of Scranton.
