Power of One
The action-packed day ended with a pledge! As Girl Scouts, we know that we have the power to change the world! From cleaning up parks to hosting food drives, our Girl Scouts are taking the lead the make our communities even better and we want to show them how empowering our Girl Scouts are!
We are launching our first ever Power of One Pledge! GSHPA’s members (girls, volunteers, adults and staff) are pledging $1 million dollars’ worth of community service now-May 1, 2017 to help us celebrate GSHPA’s 10th Birthday! (In Pennsylvania, one hour of volunteer labor is valued at $23.40).
By filling out our online Power of One Pledge Form, we can log our community service hours and capture powerful stories of how our Girl Scouts are changing the world! Learn more and log your hours here!
Girl Scouts are go-getters, innovators, risk takers and leaders! The world needs more Girl Scouts! Jen Stolte, Director of Volunteer Experience, ended the day by encouraging all of our members to take the Power of One, one-step further, by getting more girls involved in Girl Scouting.
Did you know?
That last year we have 1,739 Troops across our 30 counties? And that in those troops, there were about 6,000 openings for girls! That is 6,000 more lives we could have changed.
Imagine the impact we could have if every volunteer introduced Girl Scouting to one more girl or adult. This year, let’s make a commitment to take the Power of One, one-step-further by inviting at least one more girl into each troop. Together, we can change the lives of thousands of girls. Girls who need and want Girl Scouting in their lives.
We are all here because we believe in the power of Girl Scouting. We know that our volunteers help make it all happen! Thank you for participating in our 2016 Volunteer Kickoff. If you couldn’t make it we hope that you join us at next year’s event. If you have questions, please contact us at CustomerCare@gshpa.org, calling us at 800.692.7816, or visiting us at www.gshpa.org.
