Healthy Promise is coming live to your home! Register today for your front row seat for the hottest new teen cooking show in Central PA.
Tune in as the Teen Battle Chef from Spoutwood Farm (Glen Rock, PA) stream live to (Juniors, Cadettes, Seniors, and Ambassadors – Individuals or Troops) Girl Scouts in central and northeastern Pennsylvania with cooking tips and tricks for young chefs. Girl Scouts will learn how to make healthy foods and have the chance to live chat with the chefs!
The first three episodes are warm-ups for the up-and-coming chefs as they prepare for ultimate battle! Get to know the chefs so you can cheer on your favorites as they cook off live during the fourth episode! YOU be the judge on WHO wins!
4 months. 4 episodes. 4 patches. Individual registration is required per episode. One Healthy Promise patch per registered girl participant. Cost is $6 per episode, which includes the event and patch. The episodes and discussions will be hosted by a secure web service. Each participant will receive an access link to enter the conversation. Participants need a computer and internet access to participate in the Video Chat.
Make Your Plate MyPlate - Teen Chef Series - Episode 2
‘Variety is the spice of life’ will be your motto as the Teen Battle Chef make you can expert on the USDA’s MyPlate meal plan! Get everything you need in one delicious, lunch quesadilla recipe. Make your plate colorful by serving up fruits, vegetables, grains, protein, and dairy products. Be ready for a food group quiz for an opportunity to take home a prize! In addition to earning a Healthy Promise event patch for participating in this Video Chat, Cadettes working on the New Cuisines badge will enjoy this new twist on a Mexican favorite.

Make Way for New Cuisines - Teen Chef Series - Episode 3
It may be cold outside, but it is about the get hot in the kitchen! Be ready to kick it up a notch when the Teen Battle Chef share their Caribbean Salsa recipe that is sweet and spicy. The chefs will also demonstrate knife skills and the best ways to chop the salsa’s fruits and veggies. Do you feel like you are in the Caribbean yet? Seniors completing the Locavore Badge will want to tuck this recipe away for the summer when Pennsylvania produce is plentiful!

You’ve been waiting months for this showdown! In the fourth and final episode, two teams of Teen Chefs will "battle" it out while cooking two healthy dinner recipes with mystery ingredients. You will get to score the teams on their overall presentation and use of the mystery ingredient.

Walking 1,000,000 miles by May 1, 2014 may seem impossible, but together we can achieve it! Get your hearts pumping with by getting active and a little healthy competition between Girl Scout grade levels!

Here’s how to get started:
Start by getting active! Active people walk, run, skip, hop and jump. Any activity that increases your heart rate and makes your muscles stronger can be counted as Healthy Promise activity.
Report your miles the first of every month so that you don’t miss out on opportunities to win prizes!
Click here to report your miles or minutes. Report your activity as an individual or as a group. Troops or groups working as a team should pick a captain to report the collective activity each month. Be consistent for entering your information so we can track your miles.
One FREE Volunteer Guide is available for each registered troop during the 2014 membership year.
The troop leader must file the request for her/his troop if the troop would like to participate in the council-wide program. The age-specific guide books will help leaders show girls how to make healthy choices. Leaders can follow the book and complete 6-7 weeks of troop activities, plus try snack ideas, challenges, and online activities too!
