Questions and Answers for Registering for Training Classes

I don’t have a login or password.  How do I get one?

If you are signing up for training for the FIRST time, you will need a Login and Password. To get yours, follow these steps:

  • Click on the link Online Registration Login, at the top of any page of the Web site. You will be taken to a screen with a blue heart background and a letter from our CEO, Jeannette Archer-Simons. After you have read the letter, locate the solid blue box on the right hand side of the screen, just underneath the banner.
  • Click on the word “Login” in that blue box.  You will be taken to a screen with an area to type your password and login. Underneath that area you will see the sentence “Can't Remember Your Password? Click Reset My Password to change it.” At the end of the sentence, the link "Reset My Password" appears in blue. Click on the link. You will be prompted to enter your email address.  (Please note- this must be the email address you put on your blue registration form when you registered as a Girl Scout. If you have changed, see below.)
  • When you have submitted your email address, almost immediately you will receive an automatic response with your password and login id.  Plug those into the login and password areas, and you are good to go.

Why do I have to have my credit or debit card handy?  I thought required training was free.

You are correct. Required training other than First Aid and CPR (Welcome to Girl Scouting, Girl Scout Basics, Age Level training, and Troop Group Travel Training) are free. However, GSHPA uses the same registration program for all trainings, events and programs. Some of those do cost money, and the notice about having your credit or debit card handy applies to those things. First Aid and CPR Trainings do cost because they are led by outside trainers.

How can I find the training I want?

After you have logged in, click on REGISTRATION in the small blue box on the right hand side of the screen. You will be taken to a calendar of the current month, where all trainings, events and programs are listed by date, name and area. Scroll down to locate the name of the training you are looking for, in your location. If you are looking for online training, scroll to the end of the month- online trainings are posted as of the last day of the month so they will remain visible to volunteers through the entire month.

Why can’t I take Daisy (or any age level) training online?

At this time, only Welcome to Girl Scouting Orientation, Part 1 and Girl Scout Basics are available as online courses. We are currently developing online Age Level trainings and will have them available as soon as we can. Presently we are waiting for information about the new Leadership Development Model from GSUSA.

How quickly will I get confirmation of my registration?

Once you register, you will receive an automated confirmation. Then within 2-3 days you should receive an email with more information. In the case of a classroom training, you will get directions to the site, and in the case of online training, you will get an email with a link to click to participate in the course.

Thank you for helping further the Girl Scout Mission: Girl Scouting builds girls of Courage, Confidence and Character, who make the world a better place. We appreciate all you do! We hope these questions and answers help you with registering for training classes.
