Trailblazers is for Girl Scouts in grades 8-12 of all ability levels with a willingness to complete the requirements of the Trailblazer pin within the first year of being a Trailblazer. It is recommended that Trailblazer troops meet a minimum of one time a month.

What is a Girl Scout Trailblazer Troop?
Girl Scout Trailblazer Troops are a special interest troop that offers adventure on trails and in wilderness areas. The Trailblazer program provides an opportunity to engage deeply in high-adventure outdoor activities in a broad range of modalities, geographies, and climates.
Trailblazers develop skills in:
- Diverse hiking styles
- Types of camping
- Orienteering methods
- Conservation
- Outdoor preparedness and safety
- Survivorship
- High-adventure sports
When girls participate in Girl Scouts’ outdoor programming, they benefit in four important ways:

Trailblazers experience all that Girl Scouts offers through a focus on the great outdoors. Badge work, Journeys, higher awards, and trips and travel can all be completed through the lens of outdoors. Trailblazers participate in product program just as other troops do!
