Girl Scouts in the Heart of Pennsylvania (GSHPA) has only a few more days left in this year’s cookie season. However, it is not too late to order Girl Scout Cookies, and help support GSHPA’s annual Gift of Caring program.
This year’s Gift of Caring program allows customers the opportunity to donate cookie packages through Operation Gratitude, an organization that sends “300,000+ individually addressed Care Packages to Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, Marines, and Coast Guardsmen deployed overseas, to their children left behind, and to First Responders, New Recruits, Veterans, Wounded Heroes, and their Care Givers."
The heart of Operation Gratitude's mission is creating bonds between Americans and those who serve our country through various channels of outreach.
“This year GSHPA is so excited to be partnering with Operation Gratitude. Donated cookie boxes will be sent in care packages to our military men and women through their extraordinary efforts,” said Director of Product Program & Retail, Jessica Delp.
In just a few weeks into this year’s cookie season, GSHPA exceeded its initial goal of 35,000 packages donated to the Gift of Caring campaign. To challenge ourselves further, we increased our council goal to donate 50,000 packages by April 11.
As an added feature, you can donate your cookies to specific military personnel and/or units. Please email MemberServices@gshpa.org and we will be happy to fulfill this request as long as the personnel has at least 90 days left on their deployment.
