Girl Scouts in the Heart of Pennsylvania to celebrate Girl Scouts’ 110th anniversary at Pennsylvania State Capitol

Harrisburg, PA (September 27, 2022) – Girl Scouts in the Heart of Pennsylvania (GSHPA) invites all girls, families, and alumnae to gather on the steps of the Pennsylvania State Capitol on Oct. 8, 2022, at 6:30 p.m. where lights on the Lt. Governor’s Balcony will turn green in honor of Girl Scouts’ 110th anniversary.

Attendees are encouraged to show their Girl Scout pride by wearing their favorite Girl Scout attire and bringing signs and banners to showcase for a photo-op. Additionally, attendees will receive a limited edition Girl Scouts 110th anniversary patch. The Capitol will remain lit green from Oct. 7-10.

Girl Scouts’ longevity and relevancy is a direct result of the success brought by its unique girl-led programming. Through the Girl Scout Leadership Experience (GSLE), girls are encouraged to challenge themselves and learn how to take action to positively impact their communities and even the world. GSLE encourages girl-led environments where girls follow their own lead, learn by doing and feel empowered to shape their own experience, and learn cooperatively with their fellow Girl Scouts to grow together and support each other along the journey.

The event will not only celebrate Girl Scouts’ longstanding history, but recognize the value of Girl Scouting and its impact on girls throughout central and northeast Pennsylvania. GSHPA is excited to host this free event and celebrate with its many Girl Scouts supporters, rain or shine. Register now and be a part of this unique Girl Scout experience.
