As we welcome warm spring weather, Girl Scouts in the Heart of Pennsylvania (GSHPA) prepares to say farewell to its 2022 Girl Scout Cookie Season.
Only four days remain for cookie lovers to purchase their favorite Girl Scout Cookies before girls close up their shops on April 24. GSHPA encourages consumers to use the Girl Scout Cookie Finder to stock up on their favorite flavors and find where cookie-selling booths are established in their local area. Customers can find troop links to order online through the Cookie Finder as well.
While Girl Scout Cookie Season only lasts from January to April, customers can enjoy cookies all year long by storing their cookies in the freezer to enjoy later. Girl Scout Cookies can also be used to make new sweet treats, like this Thin Mint Brownie recipe!
In addition to purchasing cookies for themselves, customers also have the unique opportunity to buy cookies to give back through GSHPA’s Gift of Caring donation program in partnership with Operation Gratitude. Cookies donated to Operation Gratitude will be included in care packages provided to deployed troops, recruit graduates, veterans, military families, first responders and health care heroes.
This year, GSHPA has set a goal of donating 50,000 boxes of cookies to Operation Gratitude. In an effort to reach this goal and spread awareness for the Gift of Caring program, Jess Delp, GSHPA Director of Product Program and Retail; Retired Maj. Gen. of the U.S. Air Force James Johnson, Operation Gratitude President and CEO; and Nancy Levy, Operation Gratitude Director of Donor Relations, have all agreed to get a Girl Scout Cookie pie in the face if GSHPA hits its target for donations! One lucky Girl Scout will be randomly selected for the pieing honors.
“Normally this wouldn’t be my thing. I’m actually excited that this may generate donations. I think it will be fun for the Girl Scouts,” Johnson said.
