Harrisburg, PA (February 20, 2023) – Girl Scouts in the Heart of Pennsylvania (GSHPA) is bringing beloved Girl Scout Cookies directly to consumers with the start of in-person cookie booth stands on Feb. 24.
Girl Scout cookie booth stands will begin popping up in communities across GSHPA’s 30-county footprint at the end of the week, marking the start of Girl Scouts’ direct sale period for Girl Scout Cookie Season. Customers can visit a cookie booth near them to purchase their favorite flavors for $5 per package. New flavors Lemonades, Toast-Yay!, and gluten-free Caramel Chocolate Chip will also be featured at booth sales, courtesy of GSHPA’s new partnership with cookie baker ABC Bakers.
“Our Girl Scouts are so excited to open their cookie booths! This aspect of Cookie Season really exposes girls to skills like money management, business ethics, and people skills. Running cookie booths opens the door for girls to have real-world experiences and provides the opportunity to get innovative and creative with how they sell cookies to customers,” said Jessica Mislinski, GSHPA Director of Product Program and Retail.
Girl Scout Cookie Booth stands will be open until March 19. Consumers can search for a cookie booth near them or order directly online by entering their zip code into the Girl Scout Cookie Finder. Customers also have the opportunity to give back by donating cookies to Soldier’s Angels through GSHPA’s Gift of Caring initiative. All cookies donated will go to local servicemen and women and VA hospitals.
When customers buy a box of cookies, they are not just indulging in a sweet treat – they are helping girls in their communities explore their interests, discover their passions, and take action on issues they care about. Girls use money earned during Cookie Season to fund their Girl Scout adventures throughout the year, such as educational field trips and community service projects.
