Girl Scouts in the Heart of Pennsylvania announces new committee members


Committee Members Release

Harrisburg, PA (January 10, 2023) – Girl Scouts in the Heart of Pennsylvania (GSHPA) is excited to announce the approval of two new committee members.

“We are so excited to welcome these committee members to our organization. These passionate volunteers help us continue making a difference in our local communities by building girls of courage, confidence, and character,” said Janet Donovan, GSHPA President and CEO.

New Finance & Audit Committee Member:

Brian Burd, of Clarks Summit, Pa., serves as vice president at Luzerne Bank in Dallas, Pa. Specializing in commercial lending, he is responsible for managing a sizeable loan portfolio, regularly assessing the financial health of the bank’s lending clients, and assisting local businesses to reach their goals. Burd also served as president of the Tunkhannock Area Youth Football and Cheerleading Organization for seven years and gave back to the Tunkhannock community as a youth sports coach for 12 years. Burd is a father of two and watched his own daughter learn and grow in Girl Scouts for several years.

New Fund Development Committee Member:

Marguerite “Maggie” Wonsiewicz, of Enola, Pa., serves as an account executive at Capital Blue Cross. She is responsible for managing some of Capital Blue Cross’ largest and most high-profile employer group customers, including the Federal Employee Program. In her role she collaborates with employer leadership to efficiently manage benefit programs and analyze utilization trends and industry developments to control costs. Wonsiewicz also serves as a volunteer parent advisor for the Cumberland Valley Youth Cheer Association, and has served as board member for Executive Women International, Harrisburg Chapter, and as a volunteer for the West Shore Chamber of Commerce Business and Industry Night Committee. She is also active with the United Way, Capital Club, and Women’s Leadership Network.
