Harrisburg, PA (March 3, 2023) – Girl Scouts in the Heart of Pennsylvania (GSHPA) will join councils across the country in celebrating National Girl Scout Cookie Weekend March 3-5.
National Girl Scout Cookie Weekend was established to encourage investment in girl leaders of today and the future by purchasing Girl Scout Cookies. Every box of cookies purchased contributes to the largest girl-led entrepreneurial program in the world and helps local girls in their community reach their goals.
“The Girl Scout Cookie Program not only provides consumers delicious cookies, but teaches girls in their communities crucial life skills like goal setting, decision making, money management, business ethics, and people skills. Every cookie booth stand you see outside of a storefront is a girl-owned business. National Girl Scout Cookie Weekend is the perfect time to support these young female entrepreneurs in your local area!” said Jessica Mislinski, GSHPA Director of Product Program and Retail.
Girl Scout Cookie Season officially kicked off in January, and since then GSHPA members have wasted no time celebrating the sweetest time of the year. From fun-filled cookie rallies, to the council’s annual Mega Drop cookie distribution event, Girl Scouts across GSHPA’s 30-county footprint are excited to spread the excitement of Cookie Season to everyone.
Girl Scout Cookie Booth stands will be open until March 19. Consumers can search for a cookie booth near them or order directly online by entering their zip code into the Girl Scout Cookie Finder. Customers can also donate cookies online to Soldier’s Angels through GSHPA’s Gift of Caring initiative. All cookies donated will go to local servicemen and women and VA hospitals.
GSHPA partnered with new cookie baker ABC Bakers this year to bring customer-focused responsive services, innovative products, and effective training and digital tools to GSHPA’s Cookie Program. The new partnership brought new cookie flavors for customers to enjoy including refreshing Lemonades, French toast-inspired Toast-Yays!, and gluten-free Caramel Chocolate Chip. Customers will be able to order these diverse flavors alongside other favorites like Thin Mints, Caramel deLites, Adventurefuls, and more GSHPA invites everyone to celebrate National Girl Scout Cookie Weekend by purchasing a box (or more!) of Girl Scout Cookies to help girls in their local community polish their entrepreneurship skills and fund their next adventure.
