The mission was NASA’s first step toward the goal of sending the first woman and first person of color to the moon.
“We are so proud to have three Girl Scouts from our council selected as winners for this essay contest. It’s rewarding to see GSHPA’s science, technology, engineering, and mathematics programs encouraging girls to develop interests in STEM and showcase their knowledge through opportunities like this,” said Janet Donovan, GSHPA President and CEO.
