Camp Property Reservations

Girl Scouts in the Heart of Pennsylvania owns and manages 4 unique camp properties.  Click the links below to learn specific details about each property.

Camp Happy Valley located in Adams County is near Gettysburg, Liberty Mountain Resort (skiing and tubing), and Strawberry Hill Nature Preserve.  Camp Happy Valley facilities include rustic cabins with outdoor toilets, and lodges with indoor bathrooms and heat with group overnight capacity ranging from 10-30 per unit.

Camp Archbald located in Susquehanna county features a climbing wall, waterfront and boating activities on Ely Lake and a full range of camping experiences ranging from rustic to modern.  Camp Archbald is the second oldest Girl Scout camp in the United States and is also near Elk Mountain Ski Resort.

Camp Furnace Hills located in Lancaster county features Foxfire House an 18th century German bank house, and is near both Refreshing Mountain and Middle Creek Wildlife Management Area.  Camp Furnace Hills facilities include rustic cabins with outdoor toilets and lodges with indoor bathrooms and heat with group overnight capacity ranging from 10-30 per unit.

Camp Small Valley located in Dauphin County features a climbing wall, low ropes, pool and full range of camping experiences ranging from rustic to modern.  Camp Small Valley is the largest GSHPA property and also includes yurts available for rental, and Camp Small Valley’s land is in a conservancy with Manada Conservancy.  Camp Small Valley is near Weiser State Forest and Ned Smith Center for Nature and Art.

Journey Kits are now available to rent, on all GSHPA properties, with a day or overnight reservation!

The kit, provided on camp, includes activity supplies and activity instructions that will help your Girl Scouts grow their love and knowledge of the outdoors. You will receive a Camp Kit Digital Packet, after your payment is confirmed, in your confirmation email. This packet is a guide for completing the Journey. It includes a suggested schedule, materials list, badge step instructions, activity worksheets, and in-kit activity instructions.

Journey kit rental options are included in our property rental system and can be added during the reservation process.

Volunteer led programming – Reach out to Nature Explorers for a program during your stay at Camp Happy Valley, Camp Small Valley, or Camp Furnace Hills.  Contact Foxfire House team for an event at Camp Furnace Hills.  GSHPA Backpacking program offers experiences on or off GSHPA property. 

Recognizing that girls, lifetime members, and volunteers all love GSHPA camp properties and often want to give back in the form of service projects, Take Action projects, or pursue one of Girl Scout’s highest awards, this list of opportunities will help guide your brain for on-property projects.
