Girl Scouts who are currently in 9th - 12th grade are welcome to register!

Please be aware that all campers must remain under 18, if your ambassador will turn 18 before July 31 2022, she is no longer eligible for this program.

Join us for a two-week Counselor in Training (CIT) program where you will learn more about yourself and strengthen your leadership skills! CITs will learn about group dynamics, decision making and conflict resolution. Girls will learn by doing and take these skills and apply them in a camp setting under the supervision of experienced staff.

GSHPA is using GS Events as our Summer Camp Registration System this year. Due to this, there will be changes in how you register & prepare for camp. Please review information provided on this page!

- For camps occurring between July 10 – July 15, camp registration closes June 26, 2022. For camps occurring after July 16, camp registration closes June 30, 2022.

- Registration must be completed by the parent/guardian of the girl.

-For returning campers, a change from last year, you are now required to register girls at their current Girl Scout level.

If you are not currently a Girl Scout, we’re so excited you’re considering one of our camps!  Girl Scout membership costs $25 and you can join here, before you register for a specific camp.

- Please have the following information handy before you start your registration:

- All camper medical insurance details from your ID carrier including carrier, name of the insured policyholder, policy/group numbers, insurance company phone number, etc.

- All information for your camper’s physician and dentist, including name, address, and phone number

- All details regarding immunizations

- All details regarding any medical conditions and disease/health history

- All details regarding any camper medications/prescriptions, including the name of the drug, dosage instructions, etc.

-Be prepared to enter all of your information in one sitting, as forms will not save partial submissions or incomplete entries!

Ways to Pay

- Deposit: A $50 non-refundable deposit is required for resident camp, mini-camp, Counselor in Training Camp, Day Camp and Family Camp. Troop Camps must be paid in full at the time of registration. 


- GO! Dough:  For any current Girl Scout, GO! Dough can be used to pay the remaining balance after the $50 deposit has been paid for any camp session. Fill out the GO! Dough Usage Form after completing registration and paying the deposit.

- Cookie Incentive: If a camper sells 1800+ boxes of cookies she can get discounted week camp ($345 off any camp session, $50 deposit still required)

- Payment Plan: All final balances are due two weeks prior to your selected camp session. You are able to pay by either logging into your MyGS account (see my events on left side of the page on your account) or call Member Services at 800.692.7816.

Camp open houses are for any camp participants, potential camp participants and caregivers who want to spend an afternoon exploring the camp where residential summer campers attend. Whether this is your first year or your 10th year, you can find the magic of camp at Small Valley!

During a Virtual Open House, GSHPA Summer Camp Staff will provide an overview of each of the camp types and discuss any updated camp or program procedures. Virtual Open Houses will occur over Zoom and will start at 7 pm.

Refund and Cancellation Policies

A full refund, minus the deposit, will be given to cancellations received before 6/19/2022. 

If participants do not adhere to GSHPA camp pre-screen procedures, then the participant's registration will be subject to cancelation with no refund.

 

Financial Assistance

- Financial Assistance: Income should not determine whether a girl can experience the magic of camp. Be aware that financial assistance is a finite resource and that not every girl will qualify. Financial assistance applicants are still required to pay the $50 deposit and complete the camp registration process. If your financial assistance application is not approved, the deposit will be refunded if cancellation is required.

- Financial assistance is available to girls living within GSHPA’s 30-county footprint.

- Apply for financial assistance when you fill out your camp forms.

- Financial assistance is available for a single session only. If there is still financial assistance available on May 15th, a girl may apply for additional financial assistance for a second week of camp. A girl may not apply for financial assistance for a third session or more.

- If approved, financial assistance covers the balance that remains after paying the non-refundable deposit for Day Camp, Mini Camp, Resident Camp, and the CIT Program.

- Financial assistance does not cover Family Camp or Troop Camps.

- Financial assistance does not cover additional purchases, such as optional t-shirts or fun patches.

Outdoor Program Manager

Camp Name: Donnie

Sarah joined the GSHPA team in the Fall of 2017. Sarah began her career at the University of Maine, where she majored in Wildlife Ecology. After graduating, Sarah traveled the states working at a variety of outdoor education centers and camps before making her way back to the Girl Scouts. It was during this time that she discovered her passion for teaching outdoor education and her love for camp. Sarah oversees all Outdoor and Summer Camp Programs run on our four camp properties! She is a certified Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED instructor, a USA Archery Trainer, Adventure Challenge trained, and has a wide variety of outdoor recreational skills to share with our volunteers and girl members.

Program Coordinator- Girl Leadership & CIT Supervisor

Camp Name: Hollywood

Brynne joined GSHPA in November 2018 starting in Membership before making the transition to the Outdoor team in November 2021. Brynne studied athletic training at Messiah University and received a Master in Education from Millersville University. She is a proud Girl Scout alumna of the former Hemlock Council (one of GSHPA’s legacy councils) and has many fond memories spent at Camp Small Valley as a girl. Throughout her journey at GSHPA, Brynne has developed a passion for working with the Highest Awards program and older girls, including through the Counselor-in-Training program at camp. She is dedicated to growing opportunities for leadership in Girl Scouts and empowering girls to make the world a better place.
