Girl Scout vs. Wild is GSHPA’s new outdoor skill building series! This event is for Cadettes, Seniors, and Ambassadors who are interested in learning or practicing the basic skills of the Girl Scout vs. Wild events. These skills include: fire building & outdoor cooking, compass use & navigation, wilderness first aid, archery, and pitching a tent & knots. The events that took place on June 20th and July 11th were for girls with minimal to basic skills in these areas. This event is for girls who have attended one of the beginner sessions and are ready to build on their skills or for girls who weren’t able to attend one of the beginner sessions and are competent in the above skills. Girls are welcome to come to one or all three of these practice sessions! The culmination of these three practice events is the Girl Scout vs. Wild Overnight Competition on August 8th-9th. This event is for girls that attended one or all three of the practice events or for girls that weren’t able to attend any of the practice events, but would like to compete with their troop. If you are not able to attend the overnight competition, you may still come to any of the three practice events!

Lunch is included in the fee for girls and they will receive a Girl Scout vs. Wild patch for any of the three practice events that they attend and for the overnight competition (will receive only one patch total whether they come to one event or all four).

Parents/guardians do not need to remain on site for this event. If you are dropping off and picking up your Girl Scout, you will need a photo ID for pick up and must return for your Girl Scout by 4:30pm. Adults are more than welcome to stay for the duration of the event, but should plan on bringing a bag lunch for themselves. There will be a refrigerator available for this use. Please note that adult chaperones are required to maintain ratio and stay overnight as part of the overnight competition.

Cancellation Policy: Program fee refunds will not be issued for cancellations received two weeks or less before the program start date.
