Does your troop or service unit love archery? Plan ahead and obtain or renew your Archery 1 certification so you can facilitate archery activities at any of our four camp properties!
The minimum age for this training is 15 years old. Certification is valid for three years from the date of course completion.
Note: USA Archery has shifted there certification process to blended learning (online/in-person) training. You will need to complete the online portion of the training through USA Archery before attending this practical session.
The cost of this online training is 40 dollars paid directly to USA Archery. The online training is self-paced and can take between 4-6 hrs to complete, depending on your past experience.

Follow the directions provided on the USA ARCHERY LEVEL 1 INSTRUCTOR ONLINE COURSE training description. You will need to create a log-in through their portal.
You must complete the online training at least 3 DAYS BEFORE the practical training in order for your instructor to send you the USA Archery Invite for the practical course. Failure to complete the online training by April 27, 2023 (by 11:59 pm) may result in the cancelation of your registration without a refund.
This practical session will cost $15 dollars through GSHPA for members and $20 dollars for non-members. Please note that lunch will not be included in the course fee, so please bring your own.
Training Details
Level 1 Instructors will be well prepared to teach beginner archery programs to people of all ages and abilities. The online session provides facilitators with the necessary tools to maintain a high level of safety both on and off the archery range for camps and beginner archery programs. To successfully complete the requirements for this certification, students must successfully pass the USA Archery Level 1 Instructor Certification online course, including the online exam.

- Outfitting an Archery Class with Equipment
- Teach the Steps of Shooting
- Practice teaching your first archery class
