Join MANTEC's Career Exploration team at Millersville University to
learn more about "STEAM in Manufacturing." Girl Scouts will
learn about engineering and design through hands-on activities
provided by Rosie Riveters with support from college students!
Brownies will make an Art Bot to earn the Designing
Robots badge, and a Balloon Powered Car to earn the
Automotive Engineering badge.
They will leave with the materials to make a Sling Shot Rocket to earn the Fling Flyer Design Challenge badge, and a Binary Code wearable to earn the STEM Career Exploration badge.
Please note: the Fling Flyer Design Challenge and the STEM Career
Exploration badges will not be earned onsite, so those will not be
provided at the event. They will need to be purchased at the troop
level once the activities have been completed.
Session
activities will also include a tour of the University's Applied
Engineering, Safety, and Technology department; and a manufacturing
career fair where the Girl Scouts will have the chance to do more
hands-on activities, and speak with women in manufacturing
careers.
