What is included in the cost of a GSHPA International Trip?
Airfare and transportation on tour, hotels, guided sightseeing, entrance fees to attractions on-tour, a full-time Tour Director, expert local guides, and support prior to and during travel from EF Tours
Who can travel on a GSHPA International Trip?
Registered Girl Scout Cadettes (6-8 grade), Seniors (9-10 grade), and Ambassadors (11-12 grade) are eligible to attend. Parents/guardians are permitted to travel with their girls as long as they are registered members. As our travel program is girl-focused, we want to ensure that girl members are the priority for enrollment. All travelers are required to have an active Girl Scout membership at the time of travel.
Can girls fundraise to travel on a GSHPA International Trip?
Yes! Girl Scouts may fundraise with family and friends with their personal fundraising page that EF Tours provides, as well as using Cookie and Fall Product proceeds, Go! Dough, and other approved additional money-earning methods. *Troops need to vote on funds being used for girl travel if earned as a troop.
Can girls travel on their own, or do they need to travel with their troop/parent/caregiver?
Girls are welcome to join GSHPA International Trips on their own, they do not need to travel with fellow troop members or a parent/caregiver. We have chaperones who are selected specifically for international travel who will make sure all travelers have a fantastic experience, even for our solo travelers. This is a great opportunity for girls to make new friends and build confidence!
What is the deadline to enroll for a GSHPA International trip?
March 1st of the year of the trip you are interested in. For example, our Iceland trip in June 2025 has an enrollment deadline of March 1st, 2025. However, please note that the closer to this deadline you wait, the higher the price will go up and our limited spots may fill up, so enroll early if you are interested!
Can troops plan their international trips aside from the yearly GSHPA International Trips?
Yes! Troops are welcome to plan their own travel and to partner with other troops to make a larger group. If you are interested in learning more about international travel, how to partner with other troops for travel, or how to plan a trip for your troop, contact Member Services at memberservices@gshpa.org and our Travel staff will reach out to you.
