Scholarships

Girl Scouts in the Heart of Pennsylvania offers scholarship awards to girls wishing to continue their education at an institution of higher education (either college or technical school). In addition to these local scholarships, graduating Girl Scouts are eligible for scholarships across the nation.

GSHPA Scholarship Criteria

Gold Award Scholarship Criteria:

  • Gold Award Recipient required
  • Graduating Senior who will attend an institute of higher education – either college or technical school qualifies
  • Academic excellence
  • Strong commitment to community service activities

Schuylkill County Scholarship Criteria:

  • Schuylkill County graduating senior who will attend an institute of higher education - either college or technical school qualifies
  • Active participant in Girl Scouts
  • Academic excellence
  • Strong commitment to community service activities

Graduation Senior Scholarship Criteria:

  • Graduating senior who will attend an institute of higher education - either college or technical school qualifies
  • Academic excellence
  • Strong commitment to community service activities
  • Active participation in Girl Scouts

In addition to these local scholarships, graduating Girl Scouts are eligible for scholarships across the nation. Please check the GSUSA Web site for a complete listing of scholarship opportunities.

Application Procedures

 February: Eblasts reminding girls to apply for GSHPA scholarships are sent to all graduating Girl Scouts for whom we have email addresses. 
 March 30:   Complete applications are due and must be received at GSHPA Corporate Headquarters - 350 Hale Avenue, Harrisburg, PA 17104 by 4:30 p.m. Late applications will NOT be considered. You may drop off or mail your application to the address above, Attn: Scholarship Committee.
 May 30:   Recipients will be notified..
 TBA   The scholarships will be awarded at the Gold Award Ceremony, date to be announced.


Please note, the scholarship application can be found on our Forms page. The application is available as a pdf and as an editable word document. You can type directly onto the word document and attach it to an email. All scholarships support college tuition expenses and will be credited directly to the institute of higher learning. Please direct any questions to GSHPA at general@gshpa.org.
