» 2013 Cookie Rally and Cookie College: Nearly 1,700 Girl Scouts from across the Girl Scouts in the Heart of Pennsylvania (GSHPA) Council kicked off the Girl Scout Cookie season with a brand new campaign 'This Is What A Girl Can Do!' at five locations throughout our 30-county service area. (January 5, 2013)

» Healthy Promise: Teaching Girl Scouts to Eat Well and Be Active: GSHPA kicked off the council-wide health initiative, Healthy Promise, at Central York High School in York on October 20. Girls got to climb a rock wall, practice their footwork with the team at Soccer Shots, and refine their skills with athletes from the York College Spartans. The grand finale was a concert by the nation’s only rock star nutritionist, Jill Jayne, who got the crowd moving with her musical performance “Jump with Jill!”

» GSHPA's New Healthy Promise Initiative is Part of Healthy Kids' Summit: GIANT Food Stores hosted a Healthy Kids’ Summit Tuesday, September 25 at the Susan P. Byrnes Healthy Education Center in York to educate the community about what can be done to alleviate the growing epidemic of childhood obesity. Girl Scouts in the Heart of Pennsylvania’s very own executive vice president, Ann Goropoulos-Hughes joined fellow panelists to discuss the growing epidemic of childhood obesity along with local, regional and national efforts to address one of the fastest growing health threats facing today’s young people.

» GSHPA Celebrates Past, Present and Future Girl Scouts with Special 100th Anniversary Celebration in Hershey: GSHPA is proud to announce the celebration raised $90,000! The net proceeds from the evening will be put toward GSHPA’s Inspiring Generationscampaign to raise $5 million by September 30, 2013 so we can continue to provide a place for girls that accepts them for who they are and encourages them to accomplish anything they want to do.

»Girl Scouts in the Heart of Pennsylvania receives $10,000 from Wells Fargo Bank: GSHPA received a $10,000 sponsorship for two upcoming 100th anniversary events being held in Hershey and Wilkes-Barre next month. Low income girls will be supported through part of the sponsorship, which will be put towards financial aid to assist with participation costs. The rest will go toward development of area Girl Scouts camps.

» Former Girl Scout Camp Transferred to State - Girl Scouts in the Heart of Pennsylvania and the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR), Bureau of State Parks signed a deed today that transfers ownership of Camp Gi Sco Ha, a former Girl Scout camp, to DCNR effective immediately.
