Camp Archbald


Camp Archbald

Archbald Road | Kingsley, PA 18826

Camp Archbald, located in Susquehanna County in the woods of Endless Mountains in northeastern Pennsylvania, is steeped in tradition and the echoes of girls who have been singing campfire songs and telling stories to keep those traditions alive year after year. The grounds include forests, fields and a spring-fed glacial lake.

Founded in 1920, Camp Archbald is the second oldest Girl Scout camp in the country! In the summer, overnight accommodations can house up to 205 people. In the winter, established units can accommodate 117 people. There is also space available for up to 500 people for daytime events. Details about available rental facilities are listed below.

Friendship Hall
  • Sleeping accommodations for up to 40 people on mattresses on the floor
  • Full kitchen with two gas stoves and two refrigerators
  • Central Heating
  • Bathrooms with showers and flush toilets

Greenwood Troop House

  • Sleeping accommodations for up to 14 people in two lofts and a lower sleeping area with two beds
  • Full kitchen with a sink, electric stove and a refrigerator
  • Platform tent is also available from June 1 to Sept. 30.
  • Attached composting toilet with entrance from inside and outside
  • Heated by wood burning stove

Heritage Hall

  • Sleeping accommodations for up to 20 people on mattresses on the floor
  • Located on the waterfront
  • Full kitchen with a sink, electric stove and a refrigerator
  • Heated by wood burning stove
  • Attached composting toilet with entrance from inside and outside

The Lodge

  • Sleeping accommodations for up to 17 people on mattresses on the floor
  • Full kitchen with a gas stove and refrigerator
  • Heated by wood burning stove
  • Bathroom with flush toilets

Treetops

  • Sleeping accommodations for up to 22 people on cots and bunk beds
  • Full kitchen with a sink, electric stove and a refrigerator
  • Two platform tents are available for additional sleeping area from June 1 to Sept. 30
  • Heated by wood burning stoves
  • Three attached composting toilets with entrance from inside and outside

  Dining Hall
  • Seating capacity for 200 people (not equipped as a sleeping structure)
  • Kitchen is equipped with gas ranges, grills, stack ovens, an ice maker, walk-in cooler, reach-in freezer, a commercial dishwasher and standard cooking equipment
  • Building is not heated

Forest Unit

  • Adirondack unit with sleeping accommodations for up to 24 people on bunk beds
  • Troop house and platform tents are also available (June 1 –Sept. 30)
  • Electricity (lights only)
  • Attached composting toilet with entrance from inside and outside
  • Washstand

Hultz

  • Tent unit with sleeping accommodations for up to 32 people on cots (June 1 – Sept. 30)
  • Includes the use of a troop house (not equipped as a sleeping structure)
  • Sealed pit latrine with one handicapped-accessible stall
  • Washstand

Maples

  • Tent with sleeping accommodations for up to 32 people on cots
  • Sealed pit latrine with one handicapped-accessible stall
  • Washstand

Mariners

  • Three houseboats with sleeping accommodations for up to 21 people (only available for use by Cadettes, Seniors and Ambassadors)
  • Two platform tents with sleeping accommodations for up to 8 additional people on cots available (June 1 – Sept. 30)
  • Includes the use of a troop house (not equipped as a sleeping structure)
  • Attached composting toilet with entrance from inside and outside

Meadows

  • Cabin unit with sleeping accommodations for up to 32 people on cots
  • Two platform tents with sleeping accommodations for up to 8 people on cots available (June 1 – Sept. 30)
  • Includes the use of a troop house (not equipped as a sleeping structure)
  • Electricity (lights only in cabins)
  • Shared composting toilets
  • Washstand

Nivert Pavilion

  • Open pavilion/picnic area available for day use only
  • Pavilion is equipped with electric lights and outlets
  • Sealed pit latrine located nearby

Schoonover Hall

  • Large building available for day use only
  • Two composting toilets
  • Building is not heated

Sunnyside

  • Cabin unit with sleeping accommodations for up to 20 people on cots
  • Platform tent with sleeping accommodations for up to 4 people on cots available (June 1 – Sept. 30)
  • Includes the use of a troop house (not equipped as a sleeping structure)
  • Electricity (lights only in cabins)
  • Shared composting toilets
  • Washstand

Camp Archbald is fully accredited by the American Camp Association (ACA) and also meets the requirements of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and Girl Scouts of the USA.
