Have you ever dreamed about being a leader in the government?
Then join us for a day of exploring what is like to be a woman working
in a government role!
The day will consist of the
following activities:
10:00 am - 11:00 am
- Interact with Troop PA, an honorary Girl Scout Troop
comprised of female legislators, at their Investiture and
Rededication Ceremony at the State Capitol Building.
11:00 am - 1:00 pm Groups will rotate through the following activities:
- Explore the colorful, informative exhibits located in the
Interactive Welcome Center in the State Capitol Building to learn
about Pennsylvania government and to "vote" on
legislation.
- Take an engaging tour of the State Capitol
Building to discover history and take a sneak peak into how and
where laws are made.
- Meet with legislators to discuss
their daily responsibilities, share the mission of Girl Scouts, and
highlight key initiatives that girls are doing to serve and
strengthen their communities.
1:00-2:00pm
- Enjoy lunch while connecting with Girl Scouts from all over
Pennsylvania, making new friends, and sharing your experiences!
2:00 pm - 4:00 pm
- After spending the day at the State Capitol, dive into
earning your "Democracy For" badge and deepen your
understanding of government and leadership!
Girl Scouts in attendance will earn and receive the
"Democracy For" badge.
The events of the day
are for all Girl Scout Levels.
The event begins at 10:00
a.m. in the State Capitol Building and ends at 4:00 p.m. in the
Keystone Building.
The fee of this event is $18 for Girl
Scouts and $15 for adults.
All Girl Scouts and adults in
attendance must be registered to attend.
