Girl Scouts love to travel—from the field trips they take as Brownies to the global adventures they go on as teens. If you love exploring different places and cultures, then Girl Scouts is the place for you.

You can experience all that our country has to offer, whether you’re “blasting off” at Space Camp in Alabama, taking in a Broadway show in New York City, or visiting the birthplace of Girl Scouts’ founder, Juliette Gordon Low, in Savannah, Georgia. And you can plan even bigger adventures around the world, traveling with other Girl Scouts who share your love of adventure.

Check out Girl Scout Destinations, the ultimate adventure program for girls ages 11 and older. With a ton of different trips to apply for every year—from surfing camp on the east coast and breathtaking hikes out west, to the crazy-cool wonder of new cultures abroad—there’s something amazing for everyone to experience.

Make friends from all over the country as you travel with Girl Scouts from different states, see and learn new things, and pack your bags full of inspiring, life-changing experiences and memories. Find your trip today!

Where can you go?  Places like China, Costa Rica, Switzerland, Patagonia, Peru, Scotland, Germany, Mexico, and more!

How far will your Girl Scout experience take you? That’s up to you!

What is a Destination?

Destinations are your chance to push yourself out of your comfort zone, make new friends that last a lifetime, and visit all the places you've dreamed about.

Destinations are girl-only one to two-week travel events sponsored by Girl Scout councils, or by GSUSA and a partner such as WAGGGS. These trips are interest-specific and there's a perfect trip for every girl!

Where do I find a list of the Destinations?

Everything you need to know about Destinations can be found on the GSUSA Destinations website, including a full listing of 2024 Destinations. Please note that new Destinations are posted each year starting between August and September.

Who is eligible?

Most events are for Cadettes and above, or girls in grades 6-12. However, some trips have different age restrictions, so be sure to check each Destination.

How do I apply?

Apply using the online application on GSUSA's destination website! You may apply to a maximum of four Destinations.

Applicants will be notified of their acceptance directly from trip sponsors. Congratulations, and bon voyage!

HERSTORY: Exploring Pennsylvania's Past and Present toggle arrow

You will spend a week exploring everything that South Central PA has to offer— from museums and theme parks to historic Gettysburg battlefields. You will experience history from a historic women's perspective while taking part in outdoor, historical, and service-focused activities. Each day will be a new adventure!

You will learn about the Battle of Gettysburg on a horseback tour, and understand the fear felt by Jenny Wade, the only woman to be shot during the battle, by exploring her home and hearing the accounts of other brave civilians. Then you'll dive into national history at the Eisenhower historic Gettysburg farm site, and understand what it took for Mamie Eisenhower to inspire others as First Lady.

We'll also explore all of Hershey's secrets! From a day at the theme park to a behind-the-scenes tour at The Hershey Story Museum and Chocolate Lab. You'll have the chance to learn about Katherine (Kitty) Hershey's passion for service, while enjoying tours and activities at High Point Mansion and other sites around Hershey.

Travelers will also explore Foxfire House, a restored 19th-century Swiss-German stone bank house located within Girl Scouts in the Heart of Pennsylvania’s Camp Furnace Hills. Specialized volunteers will enable the participants to experience early PA German farmstead life through a tour and hands-on activities. You will experience the unique culture of Lancaster County, with its rolling farmland, traditional Amish communities, and tasty treats!

Don't miss out on this historic Destination. Nowhere else can you channel your passion for history and develop your sense of community and service, while enjoying an unforgettable trip with fellow Girl Scouts!

Applications for the 2025 Destination are now open!
