This training is for GSHPA Members only.
Completion of
this instructor training allows an adult volunteer to lead girls in
archery at any of the four GSHPA properties. Please note that lunch
will not be included in the course fee, so please bring your
own.
The minimum age for this training is 18 years old.
Certification is valid for three years from the date of course
completion. A minimum of 6 people are needed in order to run this
course with a maximum of 12.
You will need to
complete the online portion of the training through USA Archery
before registering and attending this practical session. The online
training is self-paced and can take between 4-6 hrs to complete,
depending on your past experience.

Level 1 Instructors will be well prepared to teach beginner
archery programs to people of all ages and abilities. The online
session provides facilitators the necessary tools to maintain a high
level of safety both on and off the archery range for camps and
beginner archery programs. To successfully complete the requirements
for this certification, students must successfully pass the USA
Archery Level 1 Instructor Certification online course, including the
online exam.

During your practical
training, you will practice and demonstrate the following:

Setting up an archery range and demonstrating safety procedures
- Outfitting an Archery Class with Equipment
- Teach the Steps
of Shooting
- Practice teaching your first archery class

Utilizing Coaching Techniques
You will receive additional
information two weeks prior to the start of the event including a day
packing list.
Participation in this course does not
guarantee a passing grade and certification.
Earn up to
$200 in credits for camp property reservations! How does it work? For
each facilitating job you volunteer for, you'll receive a $50 credit,
up to four times. Just remember, this offer excludes facilitating for
your own troop. Once you complete your facilitating duties, we'll
enter the credit into our system, giving you a full year to use
it.
CANCELLATION POLICY: Program fee refunds will not be
issued for cancellations received ONE week or less before the program
start date.
