Ready to start learning leadership skills and work with younger Girl Scouts in the outdoors? This foundational leadership program is for Girl Scouts who are just starting their leadership journey. Outdoor Program Aides mentor younger Girl Scouts by sharing skills, testing their knowledge, and trying out their new roles as budding leaders. As an Outdoor Program Aide you'll get to learn how to facilitate songs and games, plan and lead activities, and learn basic safety at camp. You will finish your experience and earn progress towards your award by helping to plan and lead activities for Camp Creepy Crawlies weekend at Camp Furnace Hills.

Participation in all the webinars as well as participation in the Camp Creepy Crawlies weekend at Camp Furnace Hills is required to earn progress to the award for this program. Girls enrolled in this program do not need to register for the Camp Creepy Crawlies weekend at Camp Furnace Hills.

Meals and lodging are provided for the overnight experience.

This program requires a minimum of 10 girls registered. An adult must be registered with each girl (see below for an explanation of the adult mentor requirement).

Once girls complete their online training and first camp experience as an Outdoor Program Aide they will be added to the year-round group of Outdoor Program Aides to assist with camp programming throughout the year. A girl must assist with 6 programs to earn her award.

Part of the requirement to participate as an Outdoor Program Aide is that they must have an adult mentor present when they are facilitating that is not responsible for the care of other minors during the event. It does not need to be the same mentor for each event.

You will receive additional information one week prior to the start of the event.
