Here's something special for our oldest Girl Scouts! Ambassadors, get ready to make a splash in science, exploration, and creativity! Join us at the Juniata College Raystown Field Station on beautiful Raystown Lake for a hands-on adventure all about water.
Girls will discover the fascinating story of how Raystown Lake was formed and explore its history, then head out on the water to experience the lake up close. Throughout this program, they'll meet professionals who work on real-world water challenges and learn about innovative solutions that help protect this important resource. Don't forget a notebook for this adventure, because girls will be asked to brainstorm their own ideas, too!
By the end of this experience, the girls will have earned their Water badge and gained a deeper understanding of water-from its scientific origins to the simple joy of being on the lake. Expect hands-on activities, outdoor exploration, and plenty of opportunities to ask questions and discover something new.
Ambassadors will earn their "Water" badge at this event.
Troops attending this event must adhere to the girl-adult ratios outlined in Volunteer Essentials. Individual girls must attend with a parent/guardian. All troops must have at least two unrelated chaperones. All adults attending the program MUST be registered. Please consider only registering enough adults in order to maintain ratio. Any additional adults will take away from girl spots.
You will receive additional information regarding your program about 1 week prior to the start of the event.
CANCELLATION POLICY: Program fee refunds will not be issued for cancellations received ONE WEEK or less before the event. Registration transfers will not be possible once the event closes. If GSHPA staff need to cancel the event due to low enrollment or other factors, program fee refunds will be issued and registrants will be notified. Registration transfers will not be possible once the event closes.
