Calling all Cyber Sleuths!
Put your detective skills to the test as you dive into the world of cybersecurity! Girls will become Malware Detectives, uncovering the sneaky tricks of viruses, spyware, and trojans before taking on an interactive "Spot the Phish" challenge.
Then, crack The Encryption Enigma by learning how secret messages are scrambled to keep information safe-and create your own coded messages using a hands-on cipher activity.
Next, it's time for a Digital Footprint Audit! Girls will investigate the trails we leave behind online and discover smart strategies for protecting their privacy and reducing unnecessary digital exposure.
Finally, put those new skills to work in a Safe Surfing Scavenger Hunt, navigating designated online resources, solving cybersecurity puzzles, and practicing safe browsing habits along the way.
Think like a hacker. Browse like a pro. Protect like a cyber expert!
Cadettes will earn their "Cybersecurity 2 - Safeguards" badge at this event.
This event is located in the Capital Blue Connect Store in the Giant Plaza in Enola, Cumberland County.
Troops attending this event must adhere to the girl-adult ratios outlined in Volunteer Essentials. Individual girls must attend with a parent/guardian. All troops must have at least two unrelated chaperones. All adults attending the program MUST be registered. Please consider only registering enough adults in order to maintain ratio. Any additional adults will take away from girl spots.
You will receive additional information regarding your program about 1 week prior to the start of the event.
CANCELLATION POLICY: Program fee refunds will not be issued for cancellations received ONE WEEK or less before the event. Registration transfers will not be possible once the event closes. If GSHPA staff need to cancel the event due to low enrollment or other factors, program fee refunds will be issued and registrants will be notified. Registration transfers will not be possible once the event closes.
