Embark on an unforgettable nighttime adventure as girls discover the wonders of the natural world after dark! During a special field trip to Kettle Creek Environmental Education Center, girls will experience the forest in a whole new way with a guided night hike, using their senses to explore the dark. They will meet a staff member who works with Project Owlnet at Kettle Creek's Owl Banding Station to learn how scientists band Northern Saw-whet Owls and monitor their populations. Girls will also investigate the fascinating lives of nocturnal animals by dissecting owl pellets and discovering what owls eat. To wrap up their adventure, participants will host an "Extreme Nighttime Party," where they will share what they learned with their families and troop leaders, celebrating their newfound knowledge and appreciation for nature at night.
Cadette girls will earn their "Night Owl" badge at this event.
