Have you ever wondered what it was like to live in the past? Juniors will earn their "Playing the Past" Badge with the Popcorn Hat Players, Central PA's premier children's theatre! Explore the 1950's as professional actors guide you through activities to imagine life 70 years ago, create a costume, learn the Hand Jive, and ultimately put it all together to become a character worthy of the stage! Enjoy lunch on the beautiful grounds of the Pennsylvania State Capitol, and then journey back in time to see the Popcorn Hat Players present their 1950's-inspired, hilarious version of Hansel & Gretel. Whether you yearn to be center stage or you're more comfortable behind the scenes, get ready to laugh and learn in this one-of-a-kind experience!
Popcorn Hat Players Children's Theatre is located at Gamut Theatre in downtown Harrisburg. Girl Scouts can bring a bagged lunch to eat outdoors on the Capitol grounds (indoor location provided in case of inclement weather), or walk across the street and purchase lunch at the Strawberry Square Food Court.
Junior girls will earn their Playing The Past badge.
Troops attending this event must adhere to the girl-adult ratios outlined in Volunteer Essentials. Individual girls must attend with a parent/guardian. All troops must have at least two unrelated chaperones. All adults attending the program MUST be registered. Please consider only registering enough adults in order to maintain ratio. Any additional adults will take away from girl spots.
You will receive additional information regarding your program about 1 week prior to the start of the event. Participants will need to bring their own lunch or purchase a lunch.
CANCELLATION POLICY: Program fee refunds will not be issued for cancellations received ONE WEEK or less before the event. Registration transfers will not be possible once the event closes. If GSHPA staff need to cancel the event due to low enrollment or other factors, program fee refunds will be issued and registrants will be notified. Registration transfers will not be possible once the event closes.
