Get ready to design, build, and discover! Join MANTEC's Career Exploration Team for an exciting hands-on introduction to the world of STEAM and manufacturing.
Girl Scouts will learn from Rosie Riveters mentors (local high school Girl Scouts!) and Millersville University students as they explore how science, technology, engineering, arts, and math come together to create the products we use every day. Through interactive challenges designed by older Girl Scouts, girls will put their creativity and problem-solving skills to the test by building a paper airplane launcher, designing a mousetrap-powered car, and more.
Girls will also enjoy a behind-the-scenes look at the University's Applied Engineering, Safety, and Technology Department, and attend a manufacturing career fair featuring hands-on activities and inspiring conversations with women working in engineering, technology, and manufacturing careers.
By the end of the day, Girl Scouts will have explored exciting career possibilities, gained new STEM skills, and earned the STEM Career Exploration badge for their level!
Daisy, Brownie, and Junior girls will earn their "STEM Career Exploration" badge at this event.
