Are you interested in making history come alive for girls? Are you
willing to help at least 2 times a year? Then Foxfire House is the
place for you! This PA German farmstead located within Camp Furnace
Hills includes a stone bank house, a squirrel tail oven, a 10-plate
stove, a spring house and four-square garden. We offer an assortment
of hands-on living history programs focused on life in the
early1800's. The girls enjoy touring the site, creating crafts,
playing games and cooking food.
Adults and older girls (grades
10 -12) are needed to give tours and help girls participate in
activities from the time period. Come learn about the history of the
house and its contents as well as some of our basic craft activities.
Through mentoring after this training you will be able to give tours
and assist/lead some of our crafts.
