Girl Scouts ages 10 and up and volunteers who want to get first aid/CPR certified, this program is for you! Join UPMC facilitators to receive a two year certification from American Heart Association in basic first aid, CPR and using an AED. This session will also meet the badge requirements for the Junior, Cadette, Senior and Ambassador First Aid badges (badges not given at event). *Attendees should plan to bring a pouch or other storage container to make their own first aid kit.
GSHPA staff will reach out closer to the event about payment for certification in coordination with UPMC facilitators. AHA certification is $70 and is good for 2 years.
Troops attending this event must adhere to the girl-adult ratios outlined in Volunteer Essentials. Individual girls must attend with a parent/guardian. All troops must have at least two unrelated chaperones. Please consider only registering enough adults in order to maintain ratio. Any additional adults will take away from girl spots. Any adult attending just for ratio and not receiving the certification is no cost, but must stay on-site during the training.
*Minimum of 6 individuals needed to run the training
An email with all program details, including building location of training, will be sent out 2 weeks prior to the training.
